Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This charity is particularly important to me because of the story and people who sit behind it’s creation. Jane O’Brien and her family established the charity in her son George’s name after losing him suddenly to cancer. Jane’s energy and passion in working for the benefit of young people is unstoppable and I hope that seeps into each step I take on this slightly daunting Edinburgh marathon journey.
Here’s what Jane has said about the latest fundraising project:
Georges Trust is helping Southampton Hospital Trust to raise money to refit the Teenage Cancer Unit and add an Isolation Ward within the Unit. George’s Trust donated over £100,000 to pay for the day room within the unit when it was built around six years ago, so it is a great pleasure to be back helping them once again. The Unit is much needed in Southampton and covers the South and the Channel Islands. Our last objective completed was to fund a specialized machine to help with Immunotherapy Cancer Research in Southampton where we have raised £50,000. These sums of money do not come easily, so we are very grateful for your help and support. Thank you .
