Dear Family, Friends and Colleagues,
John and I are asking for your support for a very worthy cause.
I have been a volunteer at The Hospice of St Francis in Berkhamstead, Hertfordshire for the past five years. The Hospice of St Francis provides professional support and care for people with terminal or life limiting illnesses in West Herts and the Chiltern area of Bucks. However, all this vital works costs money and the Hospice rely on voluntary donations for more than 80% of the £4.7 million that it needs annually.
Since becoming a volunteer five years ago, at the Hospice of St Francis, I see first hand the marvellous work that the hospice does providing total care when time is precious, bringing peace, comfort and dignity to patients, helping them to live life to the full for whatever time is left.
The Hospice is organising a trek over seven days in Nepal in October - November 2015 where all the proceeds will go to The Hospice of St Francis. In addition, we will both spend two days helping a non-profit Hospice care organisation in Kathmandu which offers services and support to terminally ill patients and their families. Please see my gallery below for current pictures of the Hospice in Kathmandu which we will be refurbishing.
Unfortunately this challenge of a lifetime is very costly. We have to fundraise for a minimum of £3,300 each for your generosity would be very much appreciated.
Thanking you in advance,
Jillian and John.
