In October 2012 I weighed 24 stone, and after repeated visits to the doctor for ill health was diagnosed with high blood pressure. I realised I had a choice. I could carry on feeling unhappy and over eat as a way of trying to make myself feel happy or I could do something about it.
Thanks to the support of my family and in particular Mark, Lorna and David at Lifestyles for Living , I have worked really hard and lost 7 and a half stone since November 2012. The idea of not drinking excessively or eating for comfort was tough at first, but the training really helped! Regular exercise and eating the right things has transformed my life. It means I will be here to watch my son grow up.
Once I got fit, I needed a challenge and in September 2013 I completed a Spartan Sprint, a 5km obstacle course.
It was then time to look for a new challenge and I heard about the London to Paris cycle ride, 300 miles in four days, someting I would never have thought possible a year previously!
I chose Norfolk Heart Trust because I wanted to support a local charity that does great work for people suffering ill health and Norfolk Heart Trust do a fantastic job treating heart disease locally.
Please support me and the Norfolk Heart Trust by giving anything you can. Any donation is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
