This year I am running for tiny lives, a charity that helps care for premature and sick babies and their families within the special care baby unit in the RVI Newcastle. 

As many of you may know when I was pregnant with my twin boys Alfie and Jasper, Alfie didn't quite give us the smoothest of pregnancies. With growth issues and a few premature labour scares we were offered to take a visit to special care to learn a little more about what tiny lives have to offer and familiarise ourselves with the environment incase the boys needed to stay there on their arrival. Thankfully the boys bypassed the unit however some babies we know of have spent a lot of time on the ward some able to come home after weeks and some even months. Some unfortunately gained their angel wings during their stay and we have heard nothing but lovely comments about the way they and their beautiful babies were treat by all of the staff involved they really are amazing people.

This 13 miles won't be easy but knowing the money that has been donated is making such a difference to families in and around the north east makes it all worth it!
