On February 13th 2020 I underwent a 13 hour operation to remove a large brain tumour. As a result I was left with many difficulties that I have had to overcome. One of them being re-learning how to balance. A balance nerve was removed as part of the operation which left me having to complete physio to compensate for only having one balance nerve. One way that I have been testing this is by trekking over the Devonshire Moors. I'm still not 100% in any of my recovery but have definitely improved a lot in the past year and finally feel ready to give something back to the incredible hospital that saved my life.

Derriford were amazing to me during my time in hospital and still are! As lots of ICU departments have really struggled this past year I have chosen Spring Intensive Care as this is the direct charity for the ICU ward in Derriford Plymouth.

In May, Brad and I will be trekking across Devonshire Moors from the south coast to the north coast, 117 miles in total. We plan to do this across a week and by camping along the way. This will be a big challenge for both of us but will have a very rewarding result. We know that this year has been hard for everyone, especially hospitals so we are very grateful for any support you can give us.
