For the last 3 years Fortune Works has held a Sponsored Walk which has taken us as far afield as Dumbarton, Renfrew, Yorkhill and Mansewood. We have been very fortunate over the years to have had the incredible support of families, carers and friends and been able to raise several thousand pounds. However the Sponsored Walks are not just about raising money (although of course this is always appreciated) it is also about coming together as a team, working toward a common goal and showing everyone what people with a learning disability can acheive.

The monies raised via our previous Sponsored Walks has allowed us to buy outdoor gear for our walking group, invest in the upgrade of our cafe and to purchase a defibrillator for Fortune Works. On the 26th of August 2017a team of staff, service users and willing volunteers will conquer a 12 mile sponsored walk which will take us from Fortune Works to Mugdock Country Park and back again.

With this year's walk we are looking to raise enough money so that we can create a Sensory Room within Fortune Works and again improve the provision of resources and opportunities for our 100+ service users. We believe a Sensory Room would offer stimulation, relaxation and a place of peace and tranquility for our service users to benefit from.
