We support young people at risk of suicide to stay safe and find hope in times of need

Story

As new businesses, Grass Roots Skin and SkinTres, we chose PAPYRUS as our long term charitable commitment. We donate a percentage of our profits to this amazing charity along with fundraising all year round. We decided to show our commitment by kicking it off right from the very day we launch and hike the incredible Snowdonia in Wales. The date of our launch 10.10.20 also coincides with World Mental Health Day so what better day to do it?! BUT covid had other plans and our trip was cancelled. We have waited patiently since last year and our new date is August 14th 2021.

We are passionate about helping the PAPYRUS charity provide vital services to prevent young people from taking their life. It is not an easy topic to discuss and talking about suicide among ANY age group can be uncomfortable and awkward.  However for us, knowing that because of our efforts, a young person may take a different path after speaking to someone at HOPELINEUK and go on to live a beautiful life, it is worth having those awkward and uncomfortable conversations and worth hiking up a mountain on launch day.

Papyrus offer an essential phone line HOPELINEUK that provides confidential support and advice to young people struggling with thoughts of suicide, as well as anyone worried about a young person. They also educate, and offer support and training in skills on suicide intervention.

Just £5, £20, £65 and £200 really can save a young person’s life

£5 pays to service one call, text or email to HOPELINEUK, which can help a young person stay safe from suicide.

£20 can pay for a resource pack aimed at supporting teachers.

£65 can keep the helpline, text and email services running for over ONE hour.

£200 can cover the cost of training someone in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST), which is a two-day course that prepares caregivers to provide suicide first aid interventions.

We appreciate EVERY SINGLE donation no matter how big or small it may be. By supporting us and donating, you really are helping to save a life and for that we say THANK YOU.

Wish us luck... or send wine!

Jo, Lyndsey and Zoe xx
