Imagine this….You have just been buried 6ft below in a cold dark grave. The last thing you hear is the footsteps of your family and friends departing after burying you. It is now time to spend your 1st night alone in the Grave where the only currency that will save you from the Hellfire is your good deeds.
What is one of the things that will benefit you form this point onwards?
Sadaqah Jariyah- Charity which Outlives You!
The beauty of Sadaqah Jariyah is that it is a form of charity which will provide you with rewards for as long as people benefit from your good deeds.
The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); knowledge which is beneficial; or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (the deceased).” [Sahih Muslim]
“knowledge which is beneficial” means knowledge imparted verbally or by any other means through which people become better Muslims. As long as people benefit from this knowledge, the one who helped in spreading it will continue to receive reward for it long after their death.
