Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Ten slightly over-weight, nearly middle-aged men are looking to complete the Three Peaks Challenge in October.  This involves visiting the summit of Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Snowdon in Wales all within 24 hours - climbing 10,000 feet and walking 36 km (over 22 miles) in the process!

We are doing this in memory of our friend Guy Francis who lost his battle to cancer ten years ago, and in the process hope to raise £5000 for the Guy Francis Bone Cancer Research Fund.  Guy felt it was essential that there should be research into the primary bone cancer osteosarcoma from which he had suffered and for which he had already worked hard to raise funds himself. His family and close friends promised him that this would be continued in his name – Guy Francis Bone Cancer Research Fund.

Guy Francis Bone Cancer Research Fund is committed to asking questions and raising awareness of the many aspects of bone cancer where research could make a difference to the lives of patients and their families.  For more information please visit our website http://www.gfbonecancer.org.uk/
