Story
When Pasco died in 2010 I received invaluable help and support from DrugFAM. This charity gives advice and assistance to those affected by a family member’s ongoing addiction to drugs or alcohol and – as in my case - to families attempting to cope with the misery that can accompany an addict’s death.
The wonderful people at DrugFAM (many of whom have suffered in the same way) continue to lend support and care to myself and to countless others trying to cope with the same situation, seven days a week from 9-9pm.
Like all charities, DrugFAM relies on the generosity of others to carry on the invaluable work it does. The website www.drugfam.co.uk explains this far better than I can.
In a testimonial written when she was Home Secretary, Theresa May said of DrugFAM’s founder Elizabeth Burton-Phillips “Elizabeth’s courage in speaking out is moving. Her commitment to helping other families avoid the tragedy that touched her family is inspirational. This story needs to be told and needs to be seen and heard. Thank you Elizabeth for having the courage to channel the pain you felt for the good of others.”
