After Emma heard the devastating news that her friend had delivered her beautiful baby, Beatrice, stillborn just 3 days before her due date, Emma couldn’t do, say, or think of anything to help take away her friend’s pain.  So, instead, she chose to set the challenge of raising funds for SANDS (who’ve been amazing by providing support and practical items, like a memory box about Beatrice) to enable the charity to continue this work for other families in similar situations.  

Update:  we’ve done it, we’ve actually made it to Edinburgh!  

Emma chose her challenge, Bristol to Edinburgh by bicycle!  No mean feat for someone who’s only been cycling for approximately one year.  I’ve chosen to join Emma on this epic journey where we’ll be able to support each other through the toughest parts of the challenge, and tough it will be! With the aim of cycling 140 miles per day we will reach our destination at the end of 3 days!

Whether you think this is possible or not, it can’t be any harder than the pain and heartache that families go through in losing a baby.  This will be at the forefront of our minds as we push ourselves to the limit to raise these funds.
