Event: Trek India 2019, from 7 November 2019 to 17 November 2019
In memory of Frédérique Maclean
Our 2019 trekkers are trekking the highest tea plantation in the world; Kolukkumalai, crossing the foothills of the second highest peak in south India. Following the trek, they will spend two days supporting a childrens Hospice.

Story

In May 2017 my beautiful mum lost her battle with secondary breast cancer surrounded by her family at the Hospice. She had volunteered in previous years here before her diagnosis and had a great fondness for it especially for those who work and volunteer here. The numerous support services provided both for those at the hospice as well as for families before and throughout the grief process are second to none and most importantly the Hospice enabled my mum, amongst so many others, to have the dignified end they deserve.

Whilst I never thought I would lose my mum so soon in life, the Hospice has provided and continues to provide such valuable support so now it’s time for me to give back - I’ll be trekking with a group of other volunteers across the tropical terrain in Kerala and then volunteering at a children’s hospice to help raise money - the government provides only 15% funding of the £5m required each year to continue their work so please dig deep and support this great place.
