We provide UK-wide support and information to improve life after brain injury

Story

My daughter, Helen, suffered a traumatic brain injury 7 years ago which changed her life.  She received, and continues to receive, help from Headway North Cumbria and I want to thank the charity for all of the help that has been given to her.

I am fundraising for Headway North Cumbria by walking around Ullswater, the second largest lake in the Lake District, on Friday 7th August 2020.  I will be starting and finishing in Pooley Bridge.

Headway North Cumbria is a local branch of the national charity Headway - the brain injury association.  Headway North Cumbria is dedicated to assisting those affected by acquired brain injuries to adjust or return to community living, including access to appropriate accommodation, social outlets and productive activity.   In addition to providing ongoing support, guidance and information, it also provides a range of services at its weekly Day Centre as well as arranging frequent outings, events, presentations and activity weekends for its members.

During the COVID-19 pandemic the branch has unfortunately not been able to provide its full range of services but continues to be active by supporting its membership through virtual meetings on Zoom, helpline support, and regular updates.

Further details on the charity can be found on its website - www.headwaynorthcumbria.org.uk

Please help me raise money to support this amazing charity so they can continue to help my daughter and others that are in a similar situation.
