This year I am trying to raise money for Cancer Research UK. As you know I always try to push myself harder than the year before when raising money so this year I have gone all out.

I will be taking part in one event a month for the next 5 months, challenging myself in new and exciting ways (well exciting for me anyway) in order to gain your support.

1st: Brighton Marathon - 17th April 2016.

I ran the Brighton Marathon last year with just the aim to complete it, this year I have set myself the target of completing it in under 4 hours 20 minutes. With minimal training under my belt and a slight muscle injury I'm sure this will be easier said than done!

2nd: Swim my Marathon - 29th May 2016

On the second May bank holiday I plan to swim for the same amount of time as it took me to complete the Marathon. (Well I say swim, but this can include treading water, floating, crying... can't it?) I don't think I have ever been in the water for this long before, sorry skin.

3rd: Capital to Coast Bike Ride - 26th June 2016

To complete the "triathlon" I will be cycling from London to Brighton. I have opted for the 100 mile route, incredibly stupid as I have not been on my bike in about 4 years!!

4th: Spartan Race, Edinburgh Beast - 24th July 2016

Now this I am genuinely excited about. 13 miles, 30 obstacles over the untamed Scottish countryside. This will be a whole new type of challenge as every part of my body will be put through its paces.

5th: Tough Mudder, Cirencester- 20th August 2016

Finishing off this challenge with mud, water, walls, ice and electric shocks! Bring on Tough Mudder and a crisp refreshing beer as we cross the finish line.
