In April 2022, I'll be trekking through the Jordan desert in support of the Stars Appeal; Salisbury District Hospital's in-house charity (no. 1052284). Having volunteered with Salisbury's Hospital Radio Odstock for a number of years, I've been lucky enough to see some of the amazing work that the Stars Appeal do for our local hospital. They go above and beyond what the NHS can fund to make patients' experiences as comfortable and efficient as possible. Recent examples include funding 2 new CT Scanners for the Hospital and funding comfortable accommodation in the Neonatal unit so that parents of premature babies can stay in the hospital with their little ones. I was born at Salisbury District Hospital 24 years ago, as was my sister 19 years ago; I have friends and family members who have had long and short stays at Salisbury Hospital; I spent time there as a child after foolishly cracking my head open at the age of 4! We don't realise it but as Salisbury residents, it's a huge part of our community and anything you can give to support them will be gratefully received!
