Story
Hello Supporters!
Both Helen and Heather have completed this Great Run Solo challenge in aid of All We Can and have each been out running 15 times in March. In total they ran 66 miles which for the metric amongst us is 106k. Both have felt energised after each run but might just be giving it a bit of a rest in April! They would like to say a big thank you as you visit this page to donate.
Helen and Heather are raising money particularly for the All We Can Coronavirus appeal, as Coronavirus poses a catastrophic threat to communities with weaker healthcare systems and those who have lacked access to clean water and handwashing facilities, and it is the provision of these essential services for some of the world’s most vulnerable communities that All We Can and the Methodist Church in Britain have been working to support since the emergence of Covid-19.
In Maua Methodist Hospital in Kenya, staff are being provided with essential personal protective equipment; in Cameroon, internally displaced families are being provided with vital hand sanitiser to help protect themselves from the virus; in Uganda, families who would have no means of accessing markets following the banning of public transport transport by the Ugandan government, and therefore no means of buying essential supplies to feed their families, are being lent regularly sanitised bicycles.
All We Can and the Methodist Church are also, through trusted humanitarian aid partners, supporting refugees in Jordan and Bangladesh who have been placed in even more precarious living conditions than usual as cramped and crowded situations provide fertile ground for the virus to spread. In the camps of Cox’s Bazar and Za’atari refugee camps All We Can’s partners are helping to maintain essential health services, deliver soap and hygiene items, and provide community healthcare education.
