Sands Challenge15
Fundraising for Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity
Story
Steve, Michael, Johnathan, Liam & I will be taking part in the Sands 2018 Challenge15.
Each day from 1st June to 15th June 2018 we will be walking 1 mile & doing 1 act of random kindness. On 16th June 2018 we will be lighting 15 candles including 1 for Stevie as this is the anniversary of her due date.
As a family we will take on #challenge15 and cover 15 miles by walking a mile each day to help save a baby’s life.
15 babies die before, during or shortly after birth every day in the UK. Sands have launched #challenge15 to highlight this appalling fact and to raise £15,000 to help save families from this tragedy.
We have also been inspired to do our own spin off in support of Sands, by doing 15 Acts of Random Kindness. Having lost our baby girl Stevie in January 2017, through this heartbreak & loss she did show us how wonderful humanity is. We received so much kindness from all walks of life including midwives, doctors, funeral directors, churches, parents who have been through similar situations, counseling, sands leaflets, family, friends, work, schools etc. For this reason we would like to honor everyone who supports people through pregnancy related issues.
And in memory of the 15 babies that have fallen asleep each day (including our baby girl) we will be lighting 15 candles & sending bubbles to heaven.
