Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2017 I was diagnosed with Hereditary Haemochromatosis. This is a relatively rare disease which means sufferers accumulate Iron in their organs. It is also known as Iron Overload or the Celtic Curse.

Symptoms include IBS, Arthritis, Chronic Fatigue, Joint Pain, Depression and stomach pain. I like most people had never heard of it, my consultant tested me as a last resort, I'm glad he did.

If un-diagnosed it can lead to liver failure, heart disease, stroke, arthritis and in some cases premature death.

I am supporting the Haemachromatosis society as they are campaigning to raise awareness and recognition of sufferers.

There is no cure, it can only be managed, by diet, through regular blood donations or using chemical treatment to remove the iron from the body.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
