Story
This November marks 10 years since I lost my cousin Toby to sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP). He was 26 years old, had not been diagnosed with epilepsy and we were unaware he had this condition.
Sudden death through epilepsy causes at least 1000 deaths per year in England and Wales, since 2013 at least 23 of these were in young people who had no prior awareness of any risk to their lives. More research needs to be done to stop these sudden, unexpected deaths happening in young people, to stop young lives being lost and prevent families suffering the heartache that mine has.
I will be running the Great North Run to raise money specifically for SUDEP research - please donate anything you can to fund this invaluable research. Thank you in advance!
