Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
By donating you are helping to improve the lives of women and children in Tanzania.
£1 could test a primary school pupil for HIV.
£10 could pay for micro-finance training so a Maasai woman can set up her own business.
£25 could provide a Maasai school girl with uniform, textbooks and hygiene products to attend secondary school for a year.
African Initiatives aims to give these women the ability to exercise the human rights that they deserve. Including the right to a safe education, the right to healthcare, the right to own property/land and the right to be part of decision-making processes.
African Initiatives help to give girls a future by helping
them go to school, and by fighting issues such as early forced marriage, which cause girls to drop out of school. They train teachers to be inspirational role models for both girls and boys. They help to educate communities about health care, including HIV/AIDS education and help them to understand their rights to access health services. Also, they help to improve their livelihoods and resilience, through better access to land and village community bank schemes. For more
information on the vital work done by African Initiatives please do go look at their current projects, at http://www.african-initiatives.org.uk/.
I'm hoping to raise money to continue the work done by African Initiatives, to improve the futures of these young women.
