I am excited to say I’ll be skipping the Easter eggs this year as I've signed up to a 14 day trip to trek to Everest Base Camp, Nepal. This will be my first time doing anything like this so I'm hoping to raise as much money as possible for Wave Project Cymru and make sure I reach base camp with a spring in my step! The journey will take us 5230m above sea level to the base camp of Mt Everest, a route which most ambitious climbers take on in their pursuit to tackle the mountain's summit. After reaching Base Camp, we'll have the added challenge of climbing Mt Kalapathar standing at 5545m.

Any donations to our awesome project will most definitely keep me going during this challenge and 100% of the money fundraised will go to Wave Project Cymru. Similarly for the other 9 trekkers all money will go to The Wave Project as all participation fees are covered by individuals and not through fundraising.

Wave Project Cymru has worked with over 300 vulnerable young people since 2014, improving confidence, wellbeing and helping young people feel more positive and safe. As part of a wider UK charity we use the power of the ocean and waves to create feel-good vibes for our award-winning surf therapy programmes. Disappointingly, our Wales project is at present without its core funding for the year. Whilst we are working hard to keep our project going, all fundraising efforts are very welcome and always much appreciated!
