We offer vital services and support to help homeless people change their lives

Story

While the snow can be both fun and beautiful for many of us, it will be deadly for others. The large homeless population in Cambridge are suffering due to the extreme weather conditions. Without adequate clothes and sleeping bags, rough sleepers in Cambridge will get very ill and in extreme cases, some may die.

As students, we have the power to prevent this from happening. Because of this, Cambridge RAG have been in touch with Wintercomfort, a local homelessness charity, who suggested an emergency monetary collection.

We therefore implore you to do what you can to help the most vulnerable in our community by donating to Wintercomfort. While £10 is the suggested donation, we understand that some people may not be able to afford this, so please donate what you can - everything will go a really long way and all donations are massively appreciated. Equally, if you can afford to donate more than £10, please please do!

Wintercomfort are a day centre for homeless and vulnerably housed individuals in Cambridge open all year round. The charity provide welfare services, learning and development programmes and two successful social enterprises providing employment & training to homeless individuals. Currently the centre welcomes on average 61 individuals a day, around 22,000 visits every year.

Message from Wintercomfort:
"During the cold weather we continue to be open and our work is of greater importance during the exceptionally cold winter months. We are most grateful for any help great or small."
