Story

Let me introduce you to my 1st class riding team:

Raza Husain learnt how to ride at the tender age of 13 years, then forgot.  They say “you never forget how to ride a bike”.  Well, they had not met me!!.  Up for a challenge and ready to take on the 54 miles....even "readier" to accept your generous donations.  We are rewriting the
rules here…especially the English dictionary rules with words like “Readier” & “Cycleaholic”!

Zahra Husain just got back on her 15kg bike after a 10 year absence (according to me, but she maintains she never knew how to ride a bike).  Doesn't do things by half so has jumped into the deep end and is determined to complete the 44 miles route.  She is doing this so that children can have mother nature's most basic necessity.  She just learnt how to ride a bike and now she is doing 44 miles!! I’m keeping her away from skydiving!

Zaina Hussain was going to do the ride on a tank of a bike.  We're sure it was made of lead, it has a continuous track instead of wheels .  We have convinced her to take a lighter hybrid bike.  She will be accessorising it with a safety helmet because she wants to get back safe to see the £2500 donation limit smashed – please don’t make her upset. ..or angry…you will not like her when she’s angry (marvel quote)

Asad Husain is always behind his work desk dealing with clients or with his family, but now, and definitely not coerced or forced, we have taken him away from both and stuck him way out of his comfort zone to take part in what could be the biggest event of his life (after getting married, having kids, buying a house, starting a business......)  This is a workaholic turned "cycleaholic". ...did I mention he was NOT coerced or forced!

Sajjad Bukhari from Brum. He has the kit, boy does he have the cycling kit, but can he ride????!!! We have never seem him ride, but that has not stopped him.  He wants to get a cycle computer but can’t bring himself to buy one until we raise the full £2500 amount and more.  Please help him by donating to the cause (the water appeal cause, not his cycle computer cause)  There's a whole other crowd funding page for that.

Murtaza Khan from Windsor for some reason he wants to ride one way from Stanmore to Windsor.  We can't figure out why.  If we reach our total he will ride back too he said.  If that's not going to motivate you... We will tell him soon that this is a cycling event and not a motorcycling event.  For now it's our secret...ssshhhh!!

Shan Zaidi would be the youngest member of our team if he was the youngest, but don't let that fool you. He is determined to complete all challenges like when his dad asked him to find naan in Preston.  That was a great adventure for all concerned.  He can also make a mean omelette...but not while he is riding. …well we can arrange it if it will double your donation

Jokes aside, we have one aim which is to give people clean sustainable water.  We can't build the wells ourselves, we can't afford the wells, but we can ride our hearts out and get your donations.  A few statistics below ...think about your loved ones as you read:

• Children who walk for hours every day to the closest water source are unable to attend school.

• 443 million school days are lost each year due to water-related illness

• Every 20 seconds, a child dies from a water-related illness.
