Story

I will be in Jail with Maureen Harrison, Alasdair Seale , David Smith, and Neil Stark at the Eric Liddell Centre on Friday 22nd March. Our only means of escape will be to make bail through all of your extremely generous donations!

The Eric Liddell Centre staff and volunteers provide extraordinary activities that are at the heart of our community.

There are roughly 850,000 people in the UK living with dementia and this figure is expected to rise to one million by 2025. An estimated 90,000 of these people are in Scotland.

The Eric Liddell Centre provides Daycare for 70 people living with a diagnosis of dementia every week, supports Carers all over Edinburgh, delivers Caring Soles, a unique low cost footcare service for elderly people at four Centres in the city, offers Befriending opportunities to clients and carers, provides low cost offices for 8 smaller charities and hosts over 180 classes and meetings of community groups every week.

You can find out more about their work at www.ericliddell.org

The Centre faces challenges of ever growing demand for services and a reduction in funding available from the private sector.

I am supporting this vitally important cause to ensure the Eric Lidell Centre can continue it's great work in helping to deliver services that make a significant impact on reducing loneliness, distress and social isolation which are a problem for so many vulnerable older people in our Community.
