Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
A year ago on the 16th September, we were admitted to hospital for our operations. First Ian had a kidney removed, and then it was plumbed into Jenni later that day.
The investigations, care and expertise that brought us to that day, and all the subsequent aftercare has meant that a year later we are both doing really well, and able to prepare for, and hopefully complete our first cycle together.
We have been amazed by the attention to detail and care we have both received in Portsmouth and Cambridge, in the midst of a pandemic. None of this would have been possible without the many fantastic people we have met along the way. But equally it is all totally dependant upon decades of painstaking research, and that is why we want to raise money for KIDNEY RESEARCH UK.
We plan to ride on the 11th of September, but will only do so if the weather is suitable, and if not we will delay, but not cancel. Ian will leave Portsmouth early on Saturday morning, and after 50miles meet Jenni near the Thames, and we will then cycle 100miles to Cambridge.
We would love it if you can support us financially, but if not, just knowing that we have the support of so many people, many of whom have helped get us through the last year will be important on this very long day. We would love company if you want to ride with us for a while, or meet us at the planned stops. Please just call us or message us on Twitter of Facebook.
