Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I had unusual back and leg pains. This is not something that would normally be of concern, but a few years previously, while in hospital for something totally unrelated I had met a guy who had come in to A & E with unusual back and leg pain. It transpired after testing that he had advanced prostate cancer that had progressed into his spinal cord. He was such a humble, kindly man, I remember him to this day. When I had my pains, he sprung to mind immediately and prompted me to go to the GP for a test, which is such a simple process, I am surprised it is not done as a matter of course at general medical exams. Anyway, I waffle. The test was positive and the process began. I cannot praise the NHS in our area enough. They have been fast, efficient and caring throughout the process. I have now had radical robotic prostate surgery to remove the prostate and as I write I wait for final results to confirm I am all clear, (fingers crossed). There are some not so nice after effects, but hopefully in time these will improve. What price life!!! My beautiful wife Ali has been so loving and supportive through this , I could not have come this far without her. Please donate something, however small. Lots of little's add up to a lot. I have to raise a minimum of £1000 before June next year, so with your help, hopefully I can do this. Thank you all in advance, much love, Ian.
