About Us

We are three friends who met while volunteering on an ICC short-term team in China in 2012. Since meeting we have all completed a number of personal challenges to raise money including swimming the Channel distance in a swimming pool and walking coast to coast along Hadrian’s Wall. A conversation in 2016 lead to us dreaming up The Great Wall Challenge, we plan to walk the last few miles on The Great Wall of China.

About the Challenge

Over 17 months (December 2016 – March 2018) we are planning to cover the distance of the Ming Dynasty section of The Great Wall of China, which is 5,500.3 miles long. 

We will cover the distance collectively by walking, running, swimming or cycling. This means that we have to cover 1833 miles each - 107 miles every month - 3.5 miles every day.

We will track the distances we cover using personal activity monitors. Most of the time we will be traveling alone but once a month we will meet up to complete a longer distance together. We will let our supporters know where these events are taking place so that they can join us.
