Story
Sally and I took part in the Brathay 10 in 10 (10 marathons in 10 days) in 2012. We ran a tough road marathon around England's largest lake (Windermere) every day for 10 days and we each raised a fantastic amount of money to support the Brathay Trust in their invaluable work to improve the life chances of childred and young people.
We have always wanted to help Brathay again and we would like to ask you to sponsor us as we attempt to tackle 230km across snow fields, ice forests and frozen lakes in Swedish Lapland and the Arctic. It's a self-sufficient event and so we'll be carrying our entire kit including food, clothes and safety equipment to get us through 4 days in temperatures as low as -30°C. We are experienced runners, but we've never faced conditions like this.
We have paid our own entry fees, flights and accommodation and sourced our kit ourselves. Every penny that you so kindly donate will go to the Brathay Trust and will make a big difference in the lives of some very vulnerable young people. Thank you so much for you support.
We'll be blogging in the leadup and (hopefully) during the event at http://iceultra4brathay.co.uk
