As we close out the year we really wanted to do some fundraising for a good local cause.

We chose a virtual fundraising walk as we felt is was a great way to provide the team at Indesser with a common experience which promotes physical and mental well-being, is (hopefully) fun, and which gets us outside and active.

We chose Emmanuel House as we really wanted to have a local impact that helps to make the communities in which we operate better places. Emmanuel House support the most vulnerable citizens in Nottingham, without prejudice or judgement, in order to tackle isolation, vulnerability and homelessness.

Emmanuel House have just launched their Winter Appeal with the release of 'Lone', a short film based on the lived experiences of homeless people in Nottingham. The film can be viewed at:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8TnV_RHlXs&t=460s

'Lone' is from the directors of BBC One's Soul Boy, Luke Radford and Toby Curson. It stars award-winning Television Workshop actor Justine Emma Moore, as well as Emmanuel House staff and beneficiaries. The first-person narration was written by playwright Sophie Ellerby.

The film was commissioned to raise awareness of Emmanuel House, and it tells the story of Gemma, a young woman who becomes homeless when the relationships with the people closest to her break down. Whilst living on the streets Gemma is told about Emmanuel House from where she is able to take her first steps out of homelessness.

Thank you for taking the time to look at our fundraising page and for your donations. We know it's a difficult time and every donation whatever its size will make a difference to the people that Emmanuel House support. We will keep the page updated with photos of our winter walking and stories.
