Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Wednesday 4th July I will begin a 10 day, 1,000 mile cycle ride from Land's End to John O'Groats.

This challenge is in loving memory of my best mate Tony Marshall (Masher) who lost his short but brave fight against Cancer on Wednesday 9th May 2018 at St Gemma's Hospice in Moortown.

Tony has been by my side always - from our first meeting at Boston Spa Comprehensive School in West Yorkshire, through our sporting careers playing schoolboy Cricket & Football for Collingham village. A joint love of Leeds United and lager bonded us together for ever.  Tony was the best man at my wedding to Gisela, he's Godfather to my eldest daughter as I am to his daughter Megan.  To lose him so cruelly and suddenly has been devastating.  With his cancer progressing rapidly he & Wendy found comfort at St Gemma's hospice in Moortown.  They did an amazing job of making his last two weeks comfortable, pain free and safe.  This challenge is for my mate and for the people who made his last few days more bearable.
