In memory of Michael Kiely
The Cure CJD campaign has been set up by a group of individuals, personally affected by the disease, to support the work of researchers & doctors at the MRC Prion Unit at UCL and NHS National Prion Clinic at UCLH. We are a fund within UCLH Charity.

Story

Michael 'Mick' Kiely was a husband, father, brother, brother in law, uncle and a great friend.  He always had a beaming smile which we will never forget and was loved by many.

Sadly on 20th October 2017 Dad was diagnosed with sporadic CJD, a degenerative neurological prion disease for which there is no cure.  The condition deteriorated rapidly over the course of 3 months in which Dad took his last breath on 3rd January 2018.

CJD is an aggressive condition that affects 'one in a million' and is terminal as there is no cure (Yes that's right no cure, even with all the technology we have in this modern world)  'One in a million' makes this condition very rare, but Dad was that one in a million and there is no telling who will be next !

Thank you for turning your attention to our page and for remembering Mick Kiely.

Lots of Love from the Kiely Family xxx
