This summer I'm completing ironman uk, ironman Wales, 4x 100 mile races, 2x50 Mile races and a cycle London to Paris on my birthday! I trained hard for ironman and It's been a struggle. I've fought my way through panic attacks, anxiety and depression and I won't be at my top performance but I want to at least bring some good out of this! I want to show that determination can overcome a lot. I've not let the hurdles and obstacles stop me getting to my goal of ironman, even when it's landed me in hospital with panic attacks that look like seizures :( I've been blessed with the support of friends but I'm grateful for the work of mind who help raise awareness of specifically panic attacks and how these impact people.
It'll give me a real extra motivation to keep going when it gets tough, knowing that good is coming out of this!
