Story
I am sure the Marathon is going to be one of the biggest challenges of my life. I am committed to putting myself in the best possible position to run it well, and fully enjoy the whole experience.
I am running for Street league, the charity I am extremely proud to work for. This makes my task of running 26 miles even more important, and only drives me on to succeed at this challenge.
I'm the Youth and Community Football Coach at Street League London. Each day I work with young people (16-24 year olds) who are looking to progress into employment, education, or further training, whilst also participating in the sports sessions we run. My role as Youth and Community Coach allows me to see at first-hand the amazing impact Sport can have on a young persons life. Through coaching the Sports sessions I see clear improvements in a young persons essential skills, such as confidence, communication and resilience.
Often the young people we work with have not had the best start in life and are low in confidence and motivation. At Street League we get them playing sport and help them work out what they want to do in life. By the end of their time with Street League, the vast majority of young people are motivated, confident and ready for work.
Every penny raised will contribute to helping a young person aged 16-24 progress into employment, education or training. £20 buys a young person a sports kit, and £100 pays for a venue for a week to deliver an employability programme. Thank you in advance for all of your contributions!
