As some of you will know, I have been a volunteer bereavement counsellor with the Borders Team of Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland  for the last 15 years.  Now that I am entering my dotage, I have decided to retire but, before I do, I’d like to raise some funds for this very worthwhile charity.  I am abstaining from drinking alcohol during Lent and hope that you will consider making a small donation in recognition of this huge sacrifice.

For those of you who don’t know, Lent is the period from Ash Wednesday until Maundy Thursday (14th February until 29th March).  This presents a bigger challenge than “Dry January” and just to make it more interesting, I’ll be following a low sugar/low carbohydrate diet at the same time, as well as attending the gym every feasible morning.
