We fund long-term, sustainable research to find a cure for brain tumours
Story
This September I will be embarking on another adventure. After walking the West Highland Way I decided I wanted to do another long distance walk. This time something a bit more challenging and remote.
The specifics of the walk haven't been decided yet but so far this epic mooch will be a 40 mile circular from Glenmore through the Cairngorms, over 3 nights. It will involve wild camping or staying in bothy shelters over 3 nights, this will mean carrying everything on our backs! Ouch! It's going to be a tough one so after lots of suggestions from people to do it for charity, I decided it would actually be a great idea.
I've always wanted to do something like this for charity and raise some money for a good cause. As some of you may already know, my brother is undergoing treatment for a brain stem tumour, so I would like to raise a bit of cash for a charity that focuses on research into brain tumours.
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
