Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Addiction is the biggest preventable killer in the UK.
Some of you may or not have been aware but I am coming up to my second year free from active addiction. Two years ago in June 2016 I entered a month long stay in a treatment centre to help me overcome alcoholism.
If it wasn’t for the treatment I received I would not be here today.
I am forever grateful for the family, friends, colleague, clients, suppliers, therapists and medical staff that supported me through this difficult time.
Many of you will know someone that suffers with addiction in some form or another - be it alcoholism, drug, sex, gambling, food, social media or shopping. Some of you will know those that have died from the disease. One of the guys I was in treatment with died only recently, only 22 years of age!
Unfortunately many people do not get access to the residential care that proves so successful in overcoming active addiction therefore I would like to try and raise some funds to help!
Two years on I am getting involved in an obstacle course race and I thought that while I am putting myself through the mill why not try and raise some money for a cause that is so close to my heart.
A mate and I are undertaking 7KM, 52 obstacles in May as a bit of “fun”
This is a bit fun, but also shows that recovery from active addiction is possible and you can turn your life around.
Any donations would be gratefully received!
Thanks in advance and see you at the finish line, covered in MUD!!!
