Story
Hey, folks!
Just to let you know that I'm running the Brighton Marathon next year on 15th April 2018 to raise much-needed funds for RSPCA - Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
As an animal welfare advocate, for my very first marathon (the one I wanted to run before I hit the big 5-0 on 25th May 2018 and for the memory of my beloved mum) I couldn't think of a charity to raise funds for more fitting than RSPCA.
Please dig deep in your pockets and bung me a twenty, tenner or whatever you can afford! Not for the day I will spend in a beautiful Sussex route, being cheered as a hero by total strangers. Not for the daunting challenge I'm taking on at the ripe old age of 49. And not for the dark, lonely and endless training sessions with blisters, dark toenails and nipple rashes. But for all our animal friends in need!
Thank you for your time, thank you for your support!
Did you know? Since 1824, RSPCA promotes animal welfare in England and Wales. It’s the oldest and largest animal welfare organisation in the world. Last year RSPCA rescued and collected almost 130,000 animals. The charity works hard to ensure that all animals can live free from pain and suffering via awareness and education campaigns, animal neglect/cruelty investigations and prosecutions. RSPCA also provides rehabilitation, veterinary care, rehoming and release back to nature.
