We fund equipment and research to improve the care we give to our patients

Story

After experiencing a life changing event last year in a tragic situation which resulted in me losing my leg, I have been working closely with the physiotherapy department at Stoke Mandeville hospital.

I spent several months recovering In the lower ground ward at Stoke Mandeville hospital and having the gym there and starting to be mobile and active again made such a difference to my rehabilitation and I know it has done and will do for many others.

The facilities and equipment in the gym are very limited and anything new will make such an impact on other patients.

I attend the gym on a weekly basis and have been given the opportunity to meet people in the same boat as me and have had the privilege of meeting some very inspirational service users. The staff there have been very encouraging and positive and been a huge part of my recovery. To show my appreciation I'd like to donate the money I've raised to go towards new gym equipment including weights, exercise balls etc.

Any donation no matter how small will make such a big difference and be really appreciated by myself, other service users and the physiotherapists.

I completed my skydive on the 18th July. I jumped from 13,000 feet and it was an amazing experience and an even better buzz knowing that all this money is going to such a good cause. A charitable event will be held in August before the donations are passed on.
