Story
I’ve been lucky enough to get a place on the 2018 London Marathon! I’m running for Mind which is undoubtedly the UK’s leading charity for tackling Mental Health, and raising awareness of its devastating effects. 1 in 4 people in the UK will suffer a mental health problem each year, and so it really is a universal problem which shouldn’t be ignored. As many will know, this is a very personal cause to me, as I suffer from depression and anxiety, and have for most of my life.
I’ve never so much as run for a bus, so running a marathon seems like an insurmountable challenge! However, if I can raise awareness of the epidemic that is silently sweeping the planet, whilst also pushing myself
to the limit of my own capabilities, then it will a mountain worth scaling.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated not just from myself, but also the many millions of people that Mind are trying to help. I’ve started fundraising early as I can’t think of a better way to motivate myself than by knowing what is at stake, and by seeing that I’m not only running for myself and Mind, but also those who are generous enough to support me.
