As you probably know I have been playing guitar (and sometimes bass, bass pedals and all sorts of other things! LOL) with Mike Peters and The Alarm for over twenty years. In fact I've done more gigs with Mike and played with him longer than any other human being. Mike has been living with cancer for many years and set up his cancer charity Love Hope Strength with wife Jules after his diagnosis. Jules has recently been fighting breast cancer herself - you may have seen the BBC documentary. When I'm on the road with The Alarm it always amazes me how jovial and happy the pair are, shrugging off their battles with the disease. Love Hope Strength does fantastic work bringing cancer fighting facilities to local communities around the world. My best friend, Mark Trocchi, son of the writer Alex Trocchi, died of cancer when we were both eighteen and my mother Mary also died of the disease when I was twenty one, so I'm well aware of the impact the disease can have. I have set up this page so you can donate to this great charity if you wish. I'm volunteering for the Rock The Canyons trek to raise money for the charity too - and will, I'm sure, volunteer for many of their other fund raising events in the future.
