Big Issue Foundation

We exist to end poverty and exclusion

Charity Registration No. 1049077

24th-26th July '08, I am going to cycle the 244 miles from London to Paris for charity. Seriously. No, I didn't mis-type 244. (Although, I am allowed to catch a ferry across the channel :P).

Starting at York house in Twickenham, I will cycle (along with loads of other fundraisers) an average of over 80 miles a day, ending at the Eiffel Tower in the centre of Paris. Every mile I will be raising money for the Big Issue Foundation - a charity to help the homeless in the UK, providing shelter, access to basic health services, and help in getting into employment for those people without such basic needs as a secure roof over their heads. For more about the charity, please browse their website.

Basic Intinerary:
Day 1: London to Portsmouth
85 miles (136km), 1200m ascent
Day 2: Caen to Bernay
59 miles (94km), 630m ascent
Day 3: Bernay to Paris
100 miles (160km), 1035m ascent

The only problem is, I need to raise a minimum of £1300 sponsorship, which is a big number of pounds, so I'm hoping all you guys will help me out.
Please donate something, even if it's just 50p - it all adds up! Also, if you can, please gift aid your donation, so the charities can claim the tax back :)

*****************UPDATE 23/07/08********************
I'm off this evening to London so that we can leave early tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Bit provided by justgiving:
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Big Issue Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Thank you ever so much for any support you can give me =)
