We support veterans to to make positive changes in their lives

Story

Welcome to my fundraising page, my name is Jamie Jones,I hope you are well , I am a 25 year old veteran who lives in Llandudno Junction North Wales you may have seen my article and digital article online on the Daily post website and in the Pioneer paper.  Please have a read.

Yes I joined the military at 16 years old that was my own choice. I arrived in Afghanistan 30minutes into my 18th birthday making it legal to be in a war zone and one of the youngest British soldiers to be there. I featured in the sun news paper in Christmas December 2009.

I have completed 6 year’s in the armed forces, completing 3 tours in Afghanistan as a soldier, 81mm mortar operator, 60Mm mortar operator, combat driver, combat medic , combat tracker and a member of the medical evacuation team known as MERT.

For the past 4 years I have been battling every single day with severe depression and anxiety I also have a formal diagnosis of PTSD, I struggle to socialise, I struggle with every day task. most of the time I just want to stay at home. I am now showing signs of OCD. I struggle to be around people and crowds. I don’t sleep most nights either. I suffer from insomnia. But I hope everyday is a new day.

My family and partner Stacey and beautiful daughter Meah keep me going and we are soon to be having a baby boy December. Family means everything to me and there support means the world.

The reason I am writing this is because you all may be able to help me and fellow veterans in the llandudno / conwy north wales area get more access and support to help with our recovery and journey and to hopefully publicise and promote Our stories and train up more individuals to be peer mentors and get equipment and facilities to support our charity that is needed.

The charity I support is “Change Step Wales” which is part of CAIS.
