Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We lost our beautifully dippy Molly on 1July 2015. Read her story at www.mollyssmilefund.org where there is a poignant yet energetic power point presentation commemorating our first year building a new way forward with Molly powering our every moment.

Dippy and dyslexic, she struggled daily with the challenge that is dyslexia, having to work so much harder than most with her academic workload, sometimes through the night to absorb and retain information and keep up.

Dyslexia meant Molly had to work relentlessly and conscientiously in life, however, she was a smiley 'people person' at heart. She loved, juggled and supported a huge and fabulously eclectic network of friends gathered over her 19 years, along side her dream to teach.

This is a 'Molly' shaped cause. A cause she would have benefitted from and that will pave the way for better access to unconditional and really accessible help on site at St.Mary's uni by way of a dedicated Molly's Smile funded Dyslexia Support Suite and for all students who need it. Molly hid her diagnosis for her first year doubting her capability to stay the course. This was heart breaking to watch.

Let's lift the misunderstandings about learning issues and celebrate gaining strategies and solutions for better learning and life outcomes for all who require help.

We'd like to raise £21,000 for this cause as Molly would be 21 on 24 August 2016. We will roll loads more Molly's Smile fitness themed events this year for you. We will support you to roll your own challenges.

Make dyslexia a strength not a weakness. Molly would love and support this appeal. She lived to love, help and support all who crossed her warm and lovely if dippy path.

"I don't understand". Molly everyday.
