We provide care in Coventry & Warwickshire to people with a terminal illness aged 18+

Story

This page is a long lasting tribute to celebrate the wonderful life of Mick McCotter, a much loved and much missed husband, dad, grandad, son, brother, uncle and true friend to so many - an absolute 'top bloke' in every sense, he touched so many people with his humour and kindness

We lost Mick on the 4th of July 2018, aged just 52, after a very short battle with colon and liver cancer. He expressed a wish to spend his final days at Myton Hospice, and so it was. They cared for both Mick and the family in such a professional, tender and comforting way, ensuring that his passing was as peaceful, painfree and uplifting as it possibly could be, we shall be forever grateful and hope that other families can benefit from this quite unique place and their gentle end of life care

We have supported Myton for many years, completing many events to support them, the John O'Groat's to Land's End Bike ride raised over £14k, and our recent efforts in the Virtual 100 Challenge, the Glow in the Moonlight Walk, Coventry Cathedral Abseil, Coventry Half Marathon, Santa Dash and Walk for Myton have raised over £20k. Team Michael Clubbercise Class was a complete success in October 2019! Many lovely friends have generously donated in lieu of sending Christmas cards or, indeed their own birthday and anniversary presents, Ramsay Crescent donated their Christmas raffle money! Coundon Court School have continued to contribute frequently, Mick loved working there, and the kids loved him! Our Team members have ranged from 15 years to 82 years old, and we are proud to say that Valerie Owen has worked in the Ball Hill Shop for over 20 years, she will attend the Queen’s Garden Party in 2022, Covid permitting!

We will continue to work tirelessly to support this most worthy of causes, all of our fundraising efforts for 2019 and beyond, from all of our fabulous and ever supportive family and friends making up 'Team Michael and Myton', will be dedicated to this page. We aim to raise the 35k required to fund the recruitment, training and salary of a Myton nurse for a year.

Your support, as always, is very much appreciated, Mick would be truly overwhelmed, honoured and humbled by just how loved he was, and always will be
