As some will already know, my Mum was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in November 2020. This was obviously some unwanted news to come on top of the terrible year that us, and countless other people around the world have gone through because of the pandemic. 

My Mum has now gone through two major surgeries and still has a long road of possible Chemotherapy/Radiotherapy ahead of her, but I have been amazed by how she has dealt with her situation. I've said to numerous people when they've asked me how she's doing that she is handling this a million times better than I ever would. From the day she found out that she had cancer she has taken a positive outlook towards the situation. She hasn't dwelled on it and asked why her, she has just got on with it and done everything she's needed to do.

Nothing I can do will be anywhere close to what she's been through, but when I mentioned doing this to her and asked her what charity she'd want it done for she reminded me of the times when the Macmillan nurses at Worthing and St Richards hospitals had been there for her, and been on hand to answer any questions she's had and put her mind at ease about the worrying things she was going through. She said that she wanted it done for them to support their ability to give other people the same treatment and advice that they gave her.
