We support people across Nottinghamshire to improve life after brain injury

Story

In 2016 my beloved Nanny Joy passed away due to complications from a subarachnoid haemorrhage (a ruptured brain aneurysm). She was an amazing woman who was so full of life and she brought an incredible amount of happiness to everyone she met.

In June 2019 I am going to be walking 575 miles from St Jean-Pied-de-Port to Santiago de Compostela and Finisterre in Spain in memory of my Nanna and to help raise funds for a wonderful charity, Headway Nottingham.

Headway helps to give much needed support to brain injury survivors and their families, providing them with services and information that is crucial to helping rebuild their lives. They provide rehabilitation programmes, carer support, social re-integration, community outreach and respite care. They are also champions at raising awareness of brain injury and the devastating effects it can have.

If my Nanna had recovered from her brain injury, both she and our family would've benefited from the wonderful services that Headway offer and as such, I hope to raise £1.00 for every mile walked, so £575 in total.

Thank you!
