Every year I look to participate in some form of charity event, supporting not only charities close to my heart such a Prostate Cancer UK and Meningitis UK that have impacted me personally, but also charities to support the wider community.

With recent events in ‘Mind’ and given the fact that it is ‘Men’s Health Week’ this week, I’ve decided to act on the “Offer - do something for someone else (eg. volunteer for a local community group)”, and will be participating in a charity ride for our chosen charity Havant & East Hants Mind, who work to promote good mental health within our locality.

The importance of Mental Health is something that I am very conscious of having not only suffered myself, (which at the time was very suffocating and impacted my day to day life), but also witnessing friends and family members who were less fortunate than myself and required much more help. This is where the awareness and help from charities such as Mind are of most importance, by offering support and empowering people to lead a full life, which can be easier said than done at the time.

I will riding solo from Fareham to Brighton and back, a round trip of 108 miles during working hours on Friday 2^rd July, setting off from the offices at 8.30 with the view to being back by 17:30pm. You can view my route here
