Thanks to all who helped us to keep our choir on the road a
year ago. Your generosity enabled us to keep going but in
these difficult times we find ourselves with a new problem.

The spiralling cost of transport is proving to be a real obstacle
for many in our choir. Most of our members can’t access
public transport due to their multiple and complex disabilities
alongside sight loss and blindness. So we desperately need
some funds to enable them to participate.

Since the pandemic accessible transport has reduced greatly
and some of the choir are no longer able to attend. As a
charity we are looking at ways to increase access for our
groups but in the short term my choir members would love
be able to get back together this summer.

In the words of one of the choir members:
“I am a wheelchair user, registered blind and have multiple
serious health conditions. With little or no Community
Transport services there is only the option of private
wheelchair accessible transport which at a minimum of £20
per journey is just too expensive for me. I can no longer come
to our blind and partially sighted choir sessions and miss the
singing which I find uplifting, the friendship and just getting
out and about.”
