On Friday, June 18 I will participate in my third Midnight Walk in aid of and Sam Beare Hospices… with fellow volunteers, friends and a thousand or so other women who really care about people with cancer and their families.

I know it is difficult to support so many different causes and requests for various fundraising schemes.  I can, however, state unequivocally that Hospice provides the most essential and critical services to cancer patients and their families when they need it the most. 

Donations to research organizations are great; we’d all love to hear about cures.  But such contributions focus on the big picture- at some future point in time.  It’s a different matter when someone is coping with the reality of cancer here and now and needs help. 

In the day to day personal struggle coping with a loved one’s cancer, it is certainly a blessing to be able to utilize the myriad services of a nationally top ranked cancer center and hospice program, as is the norm in the States.

But everyone is not so fortunate, especially here in where hospices are not government funded and must beg for every ₤.

You can help me help them.  Even a minimum contribution sponsoring my Midnight Walk will help and Sam Beare provide physical, emotional, psychological and hands on support to cancer victims and their families when they most need it.

I know the value of this support first hand; I can’t stress enough how important it is.
