It was supposed to happen in May but due to Covid-19 travel restrictions not only is my holiday cancelled but also the skydive itself. I'm crossing my fingers I can postpone to October/November but I need to wait for news from Emirates and the travel company first before I can arranged a new date for the skydive (my 50% deposit will be transferred to the new date).

The intention is to do a Skydive over the Palm in Dubai, all self-funded.

I am going out of my comfort zone to do it, but it is all for a good cause and for something that has become very close to home in the last year.

Mental health is something which often goes unseen or unnoticed. People suffering from mental health issues often face them alone or are unware of the support and services out there to help them in their treatment and recovery to full health. When someone does experience mental health issues, the support that is available can really change people's lives for the better.

I could chose a big national charity to fundraise for but I'd rather go local. In September last year I was in our local "Cold Bath Brewery" and spotted a change in their beer mat design, it now had an Ostrich on it... linked to creating an Ostrich Pale Ale for a special social fundraising event for The Ostrich Foundation.

I wish for you to therefore support me in raising money for them, a local charity "helping young people take their head out of the sand".

We want everyone to support and fund the "Suicide Safer Harrogate" campaign.

We want people to become educated on how to spot initial anxieties before they manifest into bigger issues. So we are raising funds for the Mental Health First Aid training in local schools, sports clubs and other organisations.

Some of the staff from Harrogate Grammar School have been the first to benefit from training and The Ostrich Foundation continues to raise funds for this training across the Harrogate District.
